Utah State extension office

Back when I was learning how to garden in Utah, I would scour the internet for information. It took me a little bit, but then I finally figured out that each state has a “land-grant” university that is required under federal law to have an cooperative extension program. Our state has Utah State University’s extension program. In effect, this means that we have professional scientists, master gardeners and such figuring out what our plants need and then they tell us what is best specifically for our area.

They also host the master gardener program that is essentially devoted to teaching gardening skills to master gardeners so that they can volunteer their time for people like us. Most local extension offices have volunteer master gardeners on staff to answer your questions. So here are some links to provide more resources for your toolbox.

Hopefully these resources will help your gardening efforts like it has mine.
